SLA 3D Printing Services
What is SLA Technology?
Stereolithography (SLA) is a powerful 3D printing technology that produces extremely accurate and high-resolution parts that are capable of being used directly in end-use, low-volume production, or for rapid prototyping. 3DMan offers over 35 uniquely engineered SLA materials that can enable products to be brought to the market.
Benefits of SLA 3D Printing
SLA is a go-to choice for 3D printed models that require accurate features and a smooth surface finish. 3dman offers both standard and high-resolution options for fine detail parts, and can also print larger-sized parts and products. With the ability to produce complex features with good mechanical properties, SLA 3D prints are often used for final fit checks before moving to injection molding services.
How Does SLA 3D Printing Work?
The SLA machine begins drawing the layers of the support structures, followed by the part itself, with an ultraviolet laser aimed onto the surface of a liquid thermoset resin. After a layer is imaged on the resin surface, the build platform shifts down and a recoating bar moves across the platform to apply the next layer of resin. The process is repeated layer by layer until the build is complete.
The pros of SLA 3D printing
There are many reasons to consider stereolithography, including these:
- Detail: Stereolithography technology produces crisp, highly detailed results with a professional appearance due to the advanced performance of galvanometers
- Speed: Products go from drawing board to manufacture in a day rather than much longer using traditional prototyping and production methods
- Strength: The photopolymer resins bond chemically to produce stronger models, objects, and prototypes
- Water-resistance: The objects produced are waterproof and can be used to produce water-tight pieces
- Material options: A variety of resins can be used to manufacture to create objects with the physical properties of hardness, density, and flexibility that are desired for each project
SLA is the best Types of 3D Printing services.
Stereolithography (SLA) technology was the world’s first 3D printing technology, allowing engineers and designers to produce highly detailed prototypes that require tight tolerances and smooth surfaces. Today, SLA remains a great option for printing parts that will ultimately be painted or coated.
SLA parts have the highest resolution and accuracy, the sharpest details, and the smoothest surface finishes of all 3D printing technologies, but the main benefit of the stereolithography lies in its versatility.
Material manufacturers have created innovative SLA resin formulations with a wide range of optical, mechanical, and thermal properties to match those of standard, engineering, and industrial thermoplastics.
